The Visa Delta card was a special brand of debit card marketed mostly in the United Kingdom only, although it was also seen in some other European nations such as the Republic of Ireland. The number of different brands used by the American based Visa group has been steadily rationalised over recent years, so that most of the previous locally available varieties of Visa debit cards have been phased out in favour of the worldwide brand Visa Debit. The process of withdrawing the Delta name from the United Kingdom was begun at the turn of the century, with all the major banks in the UK now issuing Visa Debit branded cards instead.
