Gala Coral Group Limited

Content Fact Checked: September 29, 2025

Gala Coral group are a British based betting shop, bingo and casino operator, with offices in London (Coral), Nottingham (Gala Bingo and Casino) and Woking (online). It is owned by three private equity firms with typically fashionable but meaningless names: Candover Investments, Cinven and Permira.

The group’s major operations are based in the UK and Italy, where it runs a chain of nearly 900 Eurobet betting shops. In the UK, the group operates 1,800 Coral betting shops, 135 Gala bingo clubs and over 30 casinos, making it the UK’s third largest bookmaker and its largest bingo club operator. It was, however, reported in June 2014 as looking to sell off its bingo hall division.

Gala Coral’s online presence consists of Coral, Gala Bingo and Gala Casino. The group’s bingo sites are well regarded and popular, with new promotions and sites regularly introduced. Indeed, Gala bingo have recently launched a Coronation Street themed site, featuring... Reg Holdsworth! I’m not sure how many of the popular soap’s younger viewers will be familiar with the oafish Bettabuys supermarket manager. Or his hapless assistant Curly Watts.

The Group’s gambling operations are registered and licensed in Gibraltar, meaning that it is regarded as being safe to use in the UK.
