888 is an online gaming company. It was originally founded in the British Virgin Islands and Antigua in 1997, before relocating to Gibraltar in 2003. But from these small beginnings, the company has grown so that it is now the biggest player in the online bingo market.

The crucial period of expansion was 2007 – 09, when it bought out the bingo interests of Globalcom Ltd, started to provide management, operational and administrative services to other online gambling businesses and launched its umbrella site 888.com, which offered real world sports betting, casino, poker and bingo from the same website. In 2009, it also rebranded and re-launched its business services branch as “Dragonfish” – best known to bingo players as providers of the most widespread software used by bingo site operators.
Today, 888 operates only two of its own sites: 888bingo and 888ladies, but through its Dragonfish sub-brand, supervises the operations of countless other operators’ sites, including Foxy Bingo, Moon Bingo and Wink Bingo to name but three.
888 has its headquarters in Gibraltar and is licensed and regulated by the Government of Gibraltar. This territory is “whitelisted” by the UK Gambling Commission and therefore all 888 linked sites are considered safe to use in the UK.
